Excellent arcade shooter! This is how it's done!!

MINOR IMPROVEMENT IDEAS

• Would have loved to see my highscore / end score on the menu + game end scren
• At the screen edges, the player ship would sometimes get stuck for a short moment due to collision with the edges. that could possibly be solved
• The player ship, in comparison to the enemies, looks a bit 'flat'

Very cool shoot 'em up, it's not retro like many others, but instead has a pretty modern look and feel, with the mouse controls and all. It's not that wacky kind of shmup, but very good amount of imagination has gone into the design of the enemies and other stuff you come across. I found it surprisingly easy at the beginning, not a bullet hell right from the start or anything.
